PSBI stands for Persatuan Sepak Bola Bangsa Indonesia (Indonesian Football Union). It was formed in October 1928 by the Founding Father of Indonesia, Sukarno. It was originally supposed to be the national soccer team of Indonesia, but in the early New Order era (Orde Baru), Suharto declared PSSI the official federation, making Sukarno bring PSBI along with himself to Blitar (his hometown). Before that, Blitar had yet to have their own club.
